Want to help us share the message "Only Rain Down the Storm Drain"?
Let's schedule a day for volunteers (age 16 +) to install storm drain markers in Sugar Land.
PLEASE DON'T LITTER...
Storm drain systems are designed to prevent flooding by directing a path for rainwater to flow away from streets.
Rainwater that enters a storm drain flows directly to a local steam or river.
This rainwater is NOT treated or filtered.
Anything left on the ground gets carried by the rainwater into the storm drains and flows untreated into streams or rivers.
Examples include: motor oil, trash, pesticides, cigarette butts, plastic bags, and pet waste
This is a direct pathway for pollution to affect rivers, lakes, and oceans which poses risks to aquatic ecosystems and public health.
