Improving Our Environment Through Education and Engagement

Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Rebuy

Adopt the 4Rs: Reduce. Reuse. Recycle. Rebuy.

REDUCE

Create less waste

  • Use a reusable shopping bag.
  • Purchase items with the least amount of packaging.
  • Buy in bulk.

REUSE

  • Donate clothing, household items, and toys instead of throwing them away.
  • Purchase reusable mugs, dishes, flatware, and napkins instead of disposable.

RECYCLE

Make into another product.

Please recycle: Paper, Aluminum, Plastic ( #’s 1,2,3,4,5,7), Aseptic Containers, Electronics, Household Hazardous Waste, Cooking Oil, Motor Oil, Textiles (that can’t be reused), Tires, and much more.

The U.S. EPA estimates that 75% of our waste is recyclable. Recycling keeps valuable material out of landfills and makes new products out of recycled ones.

REBUY

Buy items made from recycled material.

A very important step in the recycling process and closes the loop. Many manufacturers list the percentage of recycled material on their packaging. Look for the highest percentage of post consumer waste.
