The Planet Earth Cart (PEC), developed by Keep Sugar Land Beautiful in 2004, is a mobile environmental educational resource for elementary schools.
The PEC was developed to address all learning styles and provide accessible resources to increase and enhance environmental education.
Fiction and non- fiction books, games, puppets, lesson plans, experiments, and hands-on activities are some of the approximately 5oo materials included on each PEC. Students and teachers in grades k-5 will be able to utilize this environmental educational resource as it is easily moved throughout the school. Environmental education enables students to understand and appreciate their community.
KSLB wants to provide resources that are easy to use for educators and that will increase student awareness. Topics covered include, recycling, litter prevention, conservation, clean water, gardening, composting, reuse, and sustainability. The Planet Earth Carts are sponsored by organizations, businesses, schools, foundations or individuals in partnership with Keep Sugar Land Beautiful.
Our goal is to donate a PEC to all elementary schools in Fort Bend County. Funding is still needed for more public and private Fort Bend County elementary schools. Keep Sugar Land Beautiful is aware that many corporations and organizations are dedicated to community improvement and education. We look forward to working with you!
Planet Earth Cart Sponsorship is available for $1,700 (value $3,500). A brass plaque designating the donor is included.
