2019 Sugar Land Earth Day Celebration

Reduce, Reuse, Recycle and Rock will be held on Saturday, May 18, from noon to 4 pm. The popular Texas Snakes & More returns with snake shows at 1:15 pm and 3:15 pm!  Andy Roo and the Andyrooniverse will have live performances at 12:15 pm and 2:15 pm.  We will have 30+ excellent interactive exhibits and games that will get you thinking.  FB Master Naturalists, Butterfly and Bee Experts, Nutty Scientist, NEO, Live It – Love It – Reuse It – Recycle It, Republic Services Recycle Truck and much more!  NO paper shredding will take place on May 18. The City of Sugar Land’s Public Art Program will feature a series of three temporary sculptures created of recycled materials by artist Carolina Borga. The artwork entitled “Time Less” reflects on the relationship between time, plastic consumption and plastic disposal.

Free residential paper shredding will be provided by ProShred of Houston:  Saturday, June 22, from 10 am – 1 pm, in the City Hall parking lot. This free shredding event is for residential homes only. Please bring paper documents in cardboard boxes, if possible, and check your containers for contamination. To prevent equipment damage, paper may not be accepted if it is mixed with other items. Containers will not be returned. Participants may drive through and drop off paper, no walk-ups will be allowed. All participants must remain in their cars and may not watch their paper be shredded due to safety concerns.  10 box limit please.  Please note, due to severe weather, the event may need to be canceled or rescheduled.
